West Rose Tasting Room
West Rose Tasting Room is a place for residents and visitors of the West Valley to explore new wines, find fresh takes on old favorites, or enjoy the latest trend. The Tasting Room provides tasting experiences and relaxed afternoons accompanied by different musicians and features local artists’ work and a unique, rotating selection of wines. We will also feature local beers on tap for those not feeling wine that day.
West Rose also serves as a private venue for the community, whether local businesses want to host client events, engagements, birthdays, graduation parties, or local organizations want to hold monthly or annual events there. We will host events we design and run, including tastings with the winemaker, art exhibits, private concerts, and more.

Our Story
Shannon Judd Roberson was living in New York when she moved to Verrado to be with her then-boyfriend, U.S. Air Force pilot Chad Roberson.
When she arrived in Buckeye, she longed for her favorite wine bars where she could meet with friends. To quench that, Shannon and Chad — now her husband — are opening the West Rose Tasting Room at Verrado’s Sunrise Market in late April.
“Myself and a lot of other girlfriends who moved here from other areas missed our fun and unique places,” Shannon said.
“We were exhausted of driving to the East Valley. West Rose Tasting Room is the most obvious solution to what I felt was the problem. At the same time, it’s my way of creating strategy for the next chapter of my career. It’s something different, and I preferred local. With those two thoughts merging, I couldn’t get the idea of opening a tasting room out of my head.”
The 1,500-square-foot spot will have indoor and outdoor seating. Local artwork will pepper the walls. Twelve varietals will rotate, most likely monthly but possibly weekly, depending on sales. Beer is offered as well for those, like Chad, whose “go-to is a beer.”
The wine and beer offerings will not be limited to any region. The key here is to celebrate and support small businesses that produce wine and beer.
Once West Rose Tasting Room is in a rhythm, the Robersons will introduce “fun nights” like paint-and-sip evenings. A monthly wine membership and club will give subscribers the inside scoop. Depending on what’s purchased, guests will receive a collection of wine, tastes and/or access to VIP events.
“We’ll have sommeliers teach you about the different wines,” she said. “We’ll have about three to four winemakers come in per year. We’re trying to get as close as we can to creating a winery as possible, but with access to multiple wines than the ones available to us. Our goal is to provide guests with experiences that they can’t easily access themselves.”
West Rose Tasting Room will work with local establishments to ensure guests have access to food, she said. Guests can bring their own meals, too. The key is for the community to feel comfortable and welcome in the room.
“We’re going to be a space for the community to host different events,” Shannon said. “We’ll be available for private events — community groups having meetings, birthday parties, events to promote businesses, and educational sessions.”
